There are three jails worth looking at in the region. The Beechworth Jail which is on the main street into the town. Unfortunately you can not go in for tours. However there is Ned kelly's cell behind the Tourist Info.
In Chiltern there is a quaint little jail with an entrance room and two cells. The outer door is a very heavy iron bar door, which looks very foreboding. As jails go, the Chiltern Jail is a great jail to get the feeling of those harsher times. Chiltern Jail
At the Benalla Tourist Information Centre they have a jail in which Ned Kelly was locked in. They also have a few other Ned Kelly items, worth a trip to Benalla to see.
At Chiltern there are a few strange Jalopys, at both the Grapevine Museum and the Motor Museum.

Albury to Wodonga, Walking/ Bicycycle/ Rollerblading/ Jogging Track.
Commences Albury Swim Centre on Murray River bottom of Hume Street.
Continues along Murray River Into Victoria,
Along Gateway Track and joins Hume Highway halfway along Lincoln Causeway.
From this point either return to Albury, or
Jogg into Wodonga via Sumsion Gardens and House Creek Track.

On display at the Grapevine Museum in Chiltern is a set of Salesmens Jugs from 1900. These jugs are unusual in that they are flat, and only for display purposes. The colouring of the jugs are superb.
Fruit juice, mainly apple juice, is a real speciality at Stanley, 10 Kms past Beechworth.
There are about five " junk " shops in Yackandandah
